about me.
Growing up in Alaska, I wanted to be a wildlife biologist or join the family business and be a commercial fisherman. But, it turns out that I was always meant to be a graphic designer. Looking back at my childhood, I loved art and excelled at all things art in school. I did it all and enjoyed it… pottery, screen printing, painting (all the paint), drawing with pencil and charcoal, linocut and woodblock, carving (ivory, soap stone, wood), etc… but I also loved drawing and redrawing famous logos from rock ‘n roll music stations, NBA team logos. I also loved coming up with many different designs for my BMX bike frame (never actually followed through with it, but loved dreaming of having a one-of-a-kind bike frame designed by me).
I convinced myself that I would never have a career in art, so I went against my natural talents and tried to become a wildlife biologist. I quickly found out that wasn’t the path for me, so off to the Art Institute of Seattle I went. Got my degree in Visual Communications and landed my dream job before I even graduated.
Fast forward to now… I have had a great 20+ years as a Graphic Designer/Sr. Designer/Art Director and I’m excited to keep growing my skills and be a mentor to the younger generation.
I am a husband to an amazing wife, a father to three amazing children and two dogs. They all keep me going and are the reason that I exist.
